Glengarriff's U-16 team travelled to Durrus to play Muintir Bhaire in the Western Coiste League on Tuesday night, 11th Sept, and were five point winners.
Very little seperated the teams in the first half with the home side having a slender half time lead. They started the second half stronger and opened a four point gap but a brace of goals from sub, Tadhg McCarthy, along with one from Eoghan McElhinney and a converted penalty from Ciaran O'Sullivan gave The Glen a good advantage.
Having taken the lead they never relinquished it and when Conor Lancaster produced a stunning penalty save it was game over with Glengarriff winners by 4-09 to 2-10
Team;
Conor Lancaster, Diarmuid O'Shea, Cillian Collins, James Murphy, Steven O'Sullivan, Paidi O'Sullivan, Thomas Harrington, Sean McCarthy, Eoghan McElhinney, Michael O'Sullivan, Gearoid O'Sullivan, Ciaran O'Sullivan.
Subs;
Tadhg McCarthy, Fergal O'Sullivan, George Goff.

The U-16's now travel to Ballingeary on Sunday next, 16th September for a 6pm throw-in, against Cullen from the Duhallow division, in the County U-16 'D' Football Championship - Quarter Final.
Best of luck to Terence and the Lads, but as always your support would be much appreciated on the evening!!
