Congratulations to Matthew O'Shea and his Cork Minor football team mates who defeated Armagh in the ESB GAA Football All-Ireland Minor Championship Quarter-Final at Croke Park on Sunday Aug 1st.
Cork struggled for much of the first half and trailed by 1-9 to 0-8 after thirty minutes.
Matthew was introduced for the second half and stamped his authority from early on, snuffing out the threat of the Armagh full forward who had played well in the first half. Cork worked their way back into the game and with a few minutes remaining lead by one point 2-11 to 0-16. Armagh then kicked three points in a row to lead by two entering injury time but Cork hit the last score of the game, a goal to take the spoils by 3-11 to 0-19.

Quote from Brian Cuthbert (Cork Minor Boss) in Mondays Irish Examiner:
"You’d have to say that Mathew O’Shea came in at full-back and did very well for us".
